Colour Therapy with Flowers


Colours have always been used by many as an expression of our emotions. Colours have also been used as a therapy to heal many aspects of our mental and physical health. The power of colours in flowers can stimulate our senses making us calm, energize, contented, determined, optimistic and spiritual.

 

Whether it is in your garden, windowsill, in the house, each flowers and colours have many meanings and abilities and it can provide healing for a wide variety of conditions.

There are no specific or best colours for healing, the choice of colours should be personal, that is, we are usually instinctively drawn toward the colour that we most need.

 

The arrangement of flowers, in the garden or in the home could further enhance the effect the colour will have on our senses. Certain colours act as a focal point, dominating or attracting attention; other colours increase the sense of space.

 

 

Red colour stimulates the sense of vitality. Red is a colour of love, a colour that emulates energy and alertness. When you are near red colour flowers, it will help you cope with the demand of life, it remove negativity and provide courage.

Red represents strength, willpower and determination. It is also a good pick me up when you feel depressed or tired. On the flip side, some people might find red too stimulating when they are under pressure, it can aggravate stress and anger.

Orange is the colour of activity, enthusiasm; it provokes change and creates opportunities. Orange is known to lift the spirit, provide healing to those suffering from mental or physical exhaustion.

Position orange flowers appropriately in space use for entertainment such as dining room, barbeque area in the garden as it enhance the feeling of enjoyment and movement.

However, yellow should be use with caution as too much of it may be over stimulate and become stressful. Yellow is a powerful colour and will dominate and attract attention.
